Addressing high-volume, exception-based unemployment claims

Challenge:

For a large state agency, the volume of weekly insurance claims that had to be manually processed increased by the tens of thousands overnight. However, the staff workers accountable for processing the claims were now working remotely for their safety.

Solution:

Iron Mountain helped receive, digitize and ingest documents, records and other physical information forms. This allowed the agency to provide easy and secure access to the digital documents their remote employees needed to process the exception claims.  The entire process followed records governance guidelines so that no unnecessary storage fees were accrued and record destruction rules were still followed.

Benefits:

The updated process helped the agency support their remote workforce to process manually-intensive claims. In addition, they can now securely store pallets or shipping containers of stockpiled inventory to mitigate supply chain disruptions while also maintaining ready access and up-to-date visibility over their inventory.
